Yves Sioui Durand is a playwright, director and actor. A member of the Huron-Wendat nation, he is a pioneer of Native theatre in Quebec. His unique approach has led to collaborations with artists such as Jean-Pierre Ronfard and Robert Lepage. In 1995, he was program director at the Banff Center for the Arts. Since then, he has continued to advocate for Native cultures as an author and director. His artistic quest is centered on the development of a Native mythological theatre.

I would say that Native myths are our Greek classics and the source afoot theatrical practice. I don't want to reconstitute ancient Native ritual theatre, but reinver, o it through contemporary forms.
